Did something not work after the latest maintenance update? (RESOLVED)

I have WUs (MCM & CEP2) that are not uploading on 2 different machines with the following error mgs:
Error reported by file upload server: can't write file /usr/local/boinc/data/upload/(file name)
Temporarily failed upload of (file name): transient upload error
Backing off 01:52:57 on upload (file name)

Any ideas? Thanks,

CJSL

Re: Did something not work after a latest maintenance update?

On the transfer tab that list them, click on the upload and then click on Retry. It may take more than one attempt. When the upload server is running tight on disk space, it is normally still processing uploads which frees up space, which very quickly can get filled again with new uploads. That is why you may need to try more than once. Once the space issue clears up, uploads will work normally again. You can do nothing as well as BOINC will continue to retry the uploads automatically and will eventually upload them.

That is correct. It also finished at 04:30 UTC. Unfortunately, we don't know that without having to check the News entry for updates since there's nothing posted in the forums anymore.

Yes, the size of CEP2 uploads is MUCH larger and needs LOTS more space.

Re: Did something not work after a latest maintenance update?

There are two locations that CEP2 uploads are sent.

1. the large file with more details is sent directly to Harvard for their review.
2. A smaller verification file with important information about the work unit is sent back to us to compare with your wingman.

The uploads of #1 should not have been affected by the storage issues we are having on our end.

And yes, I'm trying to get the storage under control on our end.

Thank you for your patience,

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Re: Did something not work after a latest maintenance update?

Yup, my MCM uploads are still waiting with the same transient error. It's been about 12 hours or so since the maintenance ended correct?

Thanks,
Faldor

Re: Did something not work after a latest maintenance update?

My CEP2 WUs finally finished uploading. I guess there was something still backed up after the site maintenance. Thanks everybody for their help.

Re: Did something not work after a latest maintenance update?

The agent keeps reporting that:
[error] Error reported by file upload server: Maintenance underway: file uploads are temporarily disabled.

Are we really still under maintenance?

Thanks,
Faldor
