There is a reason those gates are there. They should charge the driver with criminal negligence. Unfortunately there is no cure for gross stupidity.

There is a reason those gates are there. They should charge the driver with criminal negligence. Unfortunately there is no cure for gross stupidity. I have yet to see one that beats one incident that happened here locally quite a few years back. Seems a fellow got the idea to rob a bank with an excellent location for a fast getaway - right at the corner of a major road and one of the main freeways out of town. It was also just a few miles from the local Air Force/Reserve base. Sadly, his timing was poorly chosen. The silent alarms went off just as then-President Clinton's motorcade past by on said freeway for a visit to town. Poor fellow couldn't understand why he walked out to a parking lot of wall to wall police cars!  |
