I would say give Ubuntu 32-bit version a try. I had a laptop that was on its last legs with Win7, but after installing Ubuntu and deleting Win7 it got some life back. Now all I used it is to crunch more tasks.
----------------------------------------Since I never used any kind of Linux before there was a learning curve (ie I did not even know how to install the latest boinc version after downloading) but after spending some time on it honestly I am liking it better. Obviously the main benefit of Linux is that it is free and available to download. You could try that and if you don't like it you can always buy win7 or 8. All the best. ![]() |

I would say give Ubuntu 32-bit version a try. Ubuntu also has a huge user-base, and so common problems you might encounter are likely to have already been asked and answered somewhere on the Internet.![]() |
