Hi there,
I am fairly new to BOINC on Android and to the World Community Grid as well. However, it seems to be quite strange that I am getting tasks, which I am unable to finish on time even though my mobile should be computing for at least 7-8 hours each night... I have even increased the number of cores to two, but the only resulting action was that BOINC downloaded more tasks, rather than dedicating more resources to the given task, and now instead of three tasks I have five and each one of them with deadly deadline, which I would potentially be able to meet only if I keep the phone on charger 24/7. This is ridiculous! I would be therefore grateful for any suggestions here - I know that I can manually cancel tasks, but that kind of loses the point of hassle-free calculating in the background. Also, new unwanted tasks may appear again during the night and I would need to juggle with them all the time. FYI, I have Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini. Many thanks! |

Boinc is designed to run separate tasks on each core, the more cores you use the more tasks................

I crunch on a Galaxy S3. I use a device profile with a 0.0 day cache so that I don't download any workunits untill needed. Otherwise I run into the same problem you describe. |
