Hi,
I'm trying to work out where the incorrect project (and possibly computing preferences come from) and these are not set in: 1. Boinc Local Computer preferences (I know of no way to set "Resource Share" there) 2. Boinc Stats BAM! preferences (set to 610 so I can diagnose this) 3. My WCG preferences on website (set to 600, may have been 300 previously). The value changes to 300 on its own. I can "Update" the project or sync with BAM! to get it back to 610. Either way, whether 610 or 300 it doesn't seem to actually compute at that ratio, but that could be something else I don't understand... Not sure if that controls ALL TIME resource usage or FUTURE resource usage (its definately not looking like the second). Thanks for any pointers, Dennis |

Hello Dennis Bareis,
Just for clarity, could you list project - resource share for all your projects, not just WCG.? Then point out which projects are either giving you trouble or behaving nicely. I am a bit hazy on your problem. I will point out that WCG ignores BOINC Account Manager (BAM). Our server code is not BOINC standard because we began with United Devices code, then hacked it to work with BOINC. Our hacked server code can not Merge Devices or work with BAM. Lawrence |

Thanks for the reply, I have worked out WHEN the 300 appears, its every time the BOINC Manager (and so also the backend, its not a service) starts. I can update the project to get the 610 (WCG value), exit and restart and its back to 300. Maybe a BOINC bug?
As for the resource share when WCG is 300 the other projects each have 12.5% and when I restore to 610 its 9.01%, I have attached this and the graph. Complicating things might be that Seti+Einstein both use the GPU but even comparing WCG with say Docking, they do similar work. ![]() ![]() |
