Re: MOT is stronger than ever...

Well known story in the Zen literature.

A wealthy merchant visiting his Zen master, unexpectedly presented the master with a large bag of gold coins - a considerable gift.

The master placed it next to him and simply continued the conversation.

Finally, the frustrated merchant asked the master; "Master, is it not customary when receiving a gift to thank the person giving the gift?"

Replied the master; "It is the giver who should be grateful."

Re: MOT is stronger than ever...

I vote for no more votes.

It it's the member sig. He can do with it whatever he wants.

If it's the member's post. He can say whatever he wants.

What problem?

Re: MOT is stronger than ever...

I just remembered that one or three users in the past were explained
that the team banners show team points -- even a multi-millionaire was
told so.

Not to stir up trouble or create hard feelings but I have read the same posts by Graham himself instructing new members that they could only use banners that reflected the points they generated for MOT beause it would not be fair to other team mates - see here on latest one to Lanscader.

I guess I see it as a bit self righteous to personaly direct people on how these banners are to be used and then not follow the same guidelines. While I appreciate your efforts Graham I don't think it helps team unity to have different rules for some members - I think it creates hard feelings that could cause some to leave the team. Are all team memers equal or are some more equal than others becomes the perception. If in recognition of your efforts towards the WCG the team agrees that you need special recognition (and I think most team member would) let's give it to you in an obvious and special way and not in a way that could hurt team harmony.

So how about it - can we we come up with a way to honor Graham? Maybe it's time someone comes up with a special graphic for the image wizard?

Re: MOT is stronger than ever...

First - you are changing your signature so fast I can't keep up - you got me twisted all around in terms of what I meant (see my sig below). Appease? I didn't know I had such power. What can I say. You seem to take this very seriously so it is hard to know how to respond. I merely pointed out inconsistency. You should rightly be proud of both your points and your contributions. But I thought Stefan had a point so I chimed in. On the other hand I think this is distraction and not worth much more discussion so I think I agree with julied - do as you want in your sig - it is your sig.

How are you making the image change each time I refresh the page?

Re: MOT is stronger than ever...

hey what's going on what's the big hoo har about sigs

It's no big deal honestly it isn't

I'm happy with just the one I've got at that mo. Personally (i.e just me, you don't have to subscribe to this view to crunch for the mighty MOT) I don't feel the need to publish how many points I have or haven't got - everyone contributes what they can whatever their circumstances.

It's a team thing this WCG malarky

From where I sit you can have as many graphical twists as you can fit into your sig and no one will sit in judgement of your choice one way or t'other as they say in the grim north from where I hark.

Just one tiny tiny request please could you give some thought to our potential team mates who are not blessed with a direct enormous data pipe straight to their ISP and still have to rely on the trusty V90 56K Modem.

Please remember that that 100K graphics file takes a good 20 seconds to appear on their PC screens. They may not even stick around long enough to read our thread

I shall say no more (well not today anyway wink )

Have a listen to that Vision On music and chill out. Let's not get tied up in knots over the graphics in our sigs and instead remember why we are really doing this. I thought we were helping scientists like rbonneau provide the data to search for cures and treatments for some of Mankinds worst ailments. Now there's a sobering thought.

Another long day for me today I can't face a page full of HTML tonight - maybe tomorrow that web site update.

Be Cool - we're looking out for that 201st Team Mate.

Night All

Whoa - we definitely have a 300K within us biggrin

A new team record for results for rbonneau 1,609 yesterday and it wasn't even a Tuesday shock

We have just drawn up short of a new team record on points and run time with a truely impressive 1 year 68 days 13 hours 35 minutes and 18 seconds bagging us a points total of 267,799 - Not bad for a days work smile

Just after 1/2 past 1 on March 10th in year 2 !!!!!!!!

that gap to 3rd on points is now just 383,545 it won't be long shhh

To any Kentucky Wildcats out there congratulations on making that No1 spot for points per day applause

Keep 'em crunching
Dave
