Hello,
I looked for the answer using the "search" feature but couldn't find it, so I'm posting here. I would like to optimise my network usage pattern using the "Tools>Computing preferences>Network usage" configuration of the BOINC agent, but there's a thing I can't find a way to do: I would like to completely prevent network usage during a given day. Say, for instance, I would like to use the network freely during working days but completely block the BOINC agent's network usage during Saturday and Sunday (or the other way round, or some more complicated pattern ).Has anyone succeeded in doing such a thing? |

In Boinc Manager, look under Tools/Computing Prefs, there is a section there about Day of the Week override.....I don't know how it works but try an experiment

Network usage allowed
Every day between hours of X and Y: Allows you to set times between which hours BOINC can connect to the internet. When the times are equal, there is no restriction. Day-of-week override: Allows you to override the previous preference for specific days of the week, and specific hours of that day. |

Crystal clear, but it seems like I have to leave at least 1 minute of network communication per day... or not?

I think, if you set every day usage 00:00-00:00 and for example monday also 00:00-00:00, there would be no network usage on the whole monday but on every other day. But that's only a guess, because i'm not using this feature ;)
