[RESOLVED] Windows is suspending operations every 30 minutes

I just installed BOINC to my new computer (64-bit Windows 7) last night and let it run through the night. This morning I checked the log and I'm seeing entries that Windows is suspending operations every 30 minutes for no apparent reason. Uploads and downloads seem to be taking place normally and computation resumes after a few seconds. I wasn't seeing this on my old computer (32-bit Windows Vista) at least not the last time I looked at the logs (a few months ago).

I'll copy a sample of the log below.

The way a friend set up my Windows profile, it logs me out after a time of inactivity (unknown how long - 30 minutes maybe??), so that's the only thing I can think of that might be behind this. My profile on my old computer was not set to be logged out after a period of inactivity.

Can anyone tell me why it's doing this? Is it because of the way my profile is set up?

Thanks.

starhuggrrr, Go to Control Panel -> Power options and change the option "Put the computer to sleep:" to "Never".

Re: Windows is suspending operations every 30 minutes

Thank you! I think that probably did it. It was set to sleep every 30 minutes. If I still see it happening, I'll report back, but for now this can be marked as resolved. Thanks! :-)
