Between changing the hard disk and setting the c state to disabled as suggested by OC, the system is now running with all four processors installed, along with 8 x 4Gb of RAM running dual channel. This is running Ubuntu Server 12.04.3 LTS at the command line. It's not doing anything but it is running! I have no idea what commands/symtax to use/enter to download, install, run and configure Boinc!
----------------------------------------Next question is can someone assist please? I'm going to have to learn, but I would like to get this system productive before I get much older! Required: List of step-by-step instructions to get boinc working:
install run configure manage If there is a GUI available that would be a great help! Many thanks to all contributors to date!

To install BOINC from repositories see:
----------------------------------------http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Installing_BOINC_on_Ubuntu You could then manage from another PC that has a GUI: Advanced view, Advanced menu option, Select computer default password is blank and IP address of server can be revealed by: netstat -i -e Our forum index: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,21501 and BOINC wiki lead to more info. Will wait to see if AMD goes through with these, then decide what quad socket to go with. Hopefully not to expensive.

If your board is the right model, which I'm fairly sure it is, Hard forum has a custom overclockable BIOS for that board.
----------------------------------------See this thread: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1677395 *important- this BIOS will void your motherboard warranty The 4P's that our Team members run (4 total at last count) all use this BIOS. Here's a thread at TPU detailing Bucky Nasty's 2x 4P builds http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/bucks-4p-f-h-build-s.171252/ Good luck with the rig!!!
