If you're doing Energy projects, this happened when they went from (on my system) about 2 hours to their more normal 10 hours. Suddenly my MCM projects are coming in at 24 hours. While they're running, the count down in absolutely silly but this impacts my ability to get new MCM jobs because it seems my queue of them is "full". I also went through the "high priority" thing as it seemed that my queue was overloaded (it isn't).
It's annoying and I hope it works it way out as BOINC understands that only the energy job quintupled in size. Eve |

Yes, I also noticed that MCM and CEP2 WUs have jumped to much greater crunching time

I have only been running MCM for the past month so no other types have affected its run times. The MCM work units vary drastically from number to number. I'll one set come in that will run for 4 hours and the next will run for 28 hours. This does play serious havoc with my queue. I've set it to 1.5 days and it still runs out overnight from time to time. It would really be nice if the workunits could provide an estimate into the BOINC manager for that specific unit and not rely on an averaging system.
But hey, at least my computer is doing something useful. :) |

For the time being I am running MCM1 exclusively. I have set my cache at 1.5 days and I have not run dry on any systems. The varying times do cause the number of WU's waiting to vary a lot, but BOINC always seems to keep me supplied. The change to an 18 hour time limit for CEP2 has added a greater amount of volatility to how BOINC schedules work, so it may take some time to stabilize.

I upgraded my BOINC to 7.2.3.3 and from having the jobs posted as two or three times their actual length (thus causing the priority run status), I now see that the jobs are about half to a third their proper value (thus loading up my queue to a point where I know that I'm going to get No Response jobs). Oh well. I expect it'll sort itself in the end. In the meantime, I've set it for no new tasks until things stabilize. (I have lots and lots of work)
