Unfinished tasks, how are they handled?

At an internet cafe I go to, I want to install BOINC client while I am there but I am curious about some things.

If I finish 1 task and start the second but am unable to finish it in time before I leave, will I be able to restart this same task in the next few days without losing progress?

The internet cafe wipes over its computers when you log off so i don't think any data can be stored permanently...

Anyone have any ideas?

Install it to a USB stick and run it from there. When you return, the data will be stored on your memory. Just start up BOINC manager when you're ready.
