How the World Community Grid is installed in the Debian(Linux)
I have been successfully installed in the CentOS,But the installation failed on Debian。 When I run time,Tips are as follows: ./boinc: error while loading shared libraries: libz.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory |

Does Debian not have a RPM system? Installing from package managers like through "sudo apt-get install boinc boinc-manager" pulls in the software and puts it in the right places. Heres one repository link: https://launchpad.net/~pkg-boinc/+archive/testing . The Debian maintainers are a bit behind on the version, but 7.0.27 is as good as it comes to get running.
(Sorry, only know Ubuntu, which is said to be Debian based) |

...and should this be in the Boinc Agent Support forum, not the Suggestions Forum?

Try
----------------------------------------sudo apt-get install lib64z1 lib32z1 if you installed 32 bit. [Edit 3 times, last edit by PoppaGeek at Dec 5, 2013 4:11:12 AM] |
