Re: Threads

2 things,

1. the counts may be off due to sub threads counting all spam or admin threads that are not visible to every user. I'm not 100% sure on this though, just speculating.

2. post numbers are off because of the upgrade in the software a few years ago.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Re: Threads

I think that this counting is also important. It shows the total size of our forum.

Re: Threads

Total size as you define it is meaningless. It includes, for example, 20,000+ posts om the Hexgame thread.

I would suggest that of more interest are stats like:

  • No of forum users as a % of total users
  • Work done by forum users as a % of total work done.

As a rough and ready guide forum users with SNURK Globes (most of them?) total ~1,400 years RunTime. Less than 1% of the total! Conclusion: Forum Users are a small, though vociferous, minority. wink

I agree with most of your points, but disagree a bit with the last that most forum users have SNURK sigs. There are 12,262 people who have one or more posts on the forums, and probably quite a few thousand regular lurkers who have never posted. SNURK has nowhere near that number of sigs (and is probably quite grateful about that).

Most of the folk in my team (the Vultures ) don't have SNURK sigs and I didn't either until recently. I only got it after I crunched a few WU's for SNURK's team by way of a thank you for all the work he does on the sigs for people. I felt it was a bit of a slight to SNURK whilst crunching for his team not to be displaying one of his sigs myself, so I got one.
