Looks like I jumped the gun. Today there were some errors on my WU when I checked my Grid. I did notice in the log there was some sort of server problem when BOINC tried to upload results.

I'm using the latest of Avast! Anti-virus (been using for years with no problems), and my firewall is Privatefirewall 7.0.

Hopefully this is what you are referring to.

Learned from further reading and a response by the tech armstrdj, that -148 error can also occur when security software blocks the spawning of a second science application instance. CEP2, FAHV, SN2S are such applications consisting of a stager/controller [first loaded] and the a worker, which is loaded by the stager. AV's and such could consider this suspect. One member found a blocking rule in his Comodo / Defence+ (search forum). Since this is only very recent [-148 never reported before], when CEP@/FAHV/SN2S have been running for longer, can suspect the security software got funny updates.

Well I changed firewalls (Online Armor) and changed settings for BOINC.exe and Boinc manager to an installer setting. Saw this in the forum somewhere.

Not sure if it works yet, though. All my other projects SETI, Milkyway, Rosetta all seem to go online with out a hitch.

I'm still getting firewall permission requests for WCG work units if the file name ends in a number, ie:XXXXXXXXX.exe 7 12 or something like that.
