I don't know which project is more important. We have to finish what we started asap. New projects should appear when we finish started ones. If we would started too many projects than we would do it each a little but none with conlusions.

We all seem to post on these forums as to what we would like to see, as though we assumed that WCG actually 'provided' something, instead of just supplying the platform on which others design, write and supply the applications.
----------------------------------------We would be better trying to 'recruit' providers outside these forums......but don't ask me how we do that! ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Oct 12, 2013 9:44:32 AM] |

Would LOVE to see a project dedicated to CF (Cystic Fibrosis) as I have a personal interest - am getting tired of just looking at all my sapphire badges

When people make the odd comment here and there, that it would be nice if there was a certain type of research project here, it does not necessarily follow, that they are not aware of WCG not being a commissioner of new projects.

I'm sure whatever new project pops up soon will be a worthy case to crunch for....in the mean time my little team continues to crunch away on FAAH WUs. And hopefully all that crunching will add to new treatments and maybe future cures to AIDS.

yes i am sure a new project will be worth it as well... right now i have 1 of my 3 computers wondering other projects while the other two keep crunching here.
----------------------------------------i have almost 5 1/2 years on FAAH and to be honest i want to work on other projects... with the people i know its hard to convince them that AIDS alone is a project to spend there computer on.. when there was also cancer i had alot of people i could get convinced to try it at least... aids still has such a stigma attached to it... some people i know wont run just an aids project ![]() |

The postings a few months back indicated that the next project would likely be something tied to cancer.
While AIDS does have issues in some groups who may not want to tie their computers to a cause dealing with the gay/lesbian community, I've known enough folks impacted by AIDS - family members, health care workers, etc...that I know its a something that needs to be stamped out in the world in order to stop all those suffering from it directly or indirectly. Besides, if folks can't do crunching for FAAH for whatever reason, there is always CEP2 and SN2S WUs out there to crunch as well - and both of those are worthy causes as well |
