Re: Countdown to 200 years

Congratulation of your soon-to-be accomplishment. Like you, this is the statistic that I am most proud of. Anyone can rack up points with GPU and high-end systems, but it takes real dedication (or a fleet of corporate workstations) to rack up time.

Just passed 125 years myself so eventually, but not for a while. Have my eye on a dual CPU 6 core hyper-threaded rack server. I know I'll end up getting it, I just haven't convinced myself yet that I need it. Give it a week, tops.

Re: Countdown to 200 years

It's nice to see all of the responses and I appreciate the kind words. Thank you.

Yes KWSN, that's how it started with me. I'd been looking at server boards for years but I was always too chicken and penurious (i.e., squeaky cheap) to actually spring for them. I don't know what got into me but last year I just went crazy. I gots the fever I tells ya, and bought not one but 4 of those suckers. Actually I'm pretty sure there's a fifth one floating around someplace. I really need to get organized.

Re: Countdown to 200 years

Well, it took a couple weeks longer than I thought but I finally hit 200 years today. I was afraid I'd forget and miss it but I had to change routers and most of my machines couldn't connect so I had to check. Still trying to get that resolved. Anyway - woo-hoo!

Re: Countdown to 200 years

Well I'm at 68 years,
if I was to run my 3 comps with 24 years,
that's 5.5 years,
but since i'm only running half of one while I wait on new GPU WUs,
that's about 33 years.

Re: Countdown to 200 years

I've hit 3 Years just a couple days ago, and all I do is run it when I am not using my computer. I think the 3:1 Year Ratio for me is pretty good considering it is just 1 computer with 4 Cores and occasionally a 7850.

Only 14 years for me. 200 just amazing. Can't imagine how long it will take me to get there running just 1 PC. Congrats.
