Hi,
my laptop is running hot with VINA WUs. Is there a way of limiting the number of these and increasing the number of Autodock? If I was to switch project, i.e., a mix of FAAH and S2SN, would I solve the issue? I recall that also S2SN is VINA based, correct? Thanks |

Sorry there is no way to choose between the two types of FAAH.

Not yet anyway...
----------------------------------------It has been discussed and, I do believe, accepted by the WCG techs that, at some point in the future, there'll be an option to decide on which type of FAAH WU the user wishes to crunch (SN2S is purely VINA - so no choice there). Thing is, there will be times, as stated by the FAAH project scientists, when they'll only be producing either VINA or Autodock (or possibly, both) based WU's for certain experiments - thus, at times like these, it's Hobson's (i.e., no) choice... FYI, it's also been stated that a new project is 'on the way', and it WON'T be a VINA based project. As to when that'll be coming, hopefully soon - although as there's been no Beta testing done, don't be holding your breath. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by gb009761 at Aug 13, 2013 4:26:41 PM] |

Thanks for the replies. Until then, the output of my machines will go down, as I use Tthrottle.
Happy crunching! |

You can use an app_config.xml file to define how many tasks can run...
----------------------------------------There are loads of examples available and details of locations etc, here is an example: <app_config> The default location is - C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\www.worldcommunitygrid.org The <max_concurrent>... line is not required if you change the <cpu_usage>1</cpu_usage> line to the required number of cores/threads/wu's to run for each project Just for reference
FAHV = FightAids@homeVina SN2S = Say No to Schistosoma Hope this helps...
