RT, is there any sort of session timer in Teamviewer. It looks like it will time out and close the session after a good while but I can't find any setting for that. Have you seen it slow down your machine? I may just have hit an odd CEP2 batch but I'm seeing elapsed times MUCH larger than CPU time without anything like reboots/restarts. In the process of switching over to FAAH to see it that makes any difference. No, I do not know what the timeout limit is. I just looked through the local documentation and the website documentation. Likely I missed it somewhere or was searching for the wrong keywords. Anyway, I do not see it anywhere. As to it being consumptive, I have not ever seen it use more than 1% but have seen the app use up to 50MB of memory while in session. Of course I am talking about I7 2600s and 3770Ks. I essentially cannot tell it is there from a performance perspective. Looking back at the System Requirements for CEP2, it looks like it needs a gigabyte of memory itself so that could be the issue. If so, the FAAH switch should show a marked improvement. Hope (though doubt) that helps.... Don't think it was memory. This is on the C2D with 4GB. I think it's something with the CEP2 batch. It looks like something was causing WUs to reset (like a reboot but without a reboot). They were running long enough that I could recall a WU being almost done and then back near the beginning the next time I looked. These seemed to have a problem checkpointing. CEP2 has always been stingy with that but these last WUs seemed to run the whole WU without a checkpoint. Moot now though. Machine is now on FAAH. Quad is working on it's last CEP2s. I'll run FAAH (unless Schisto starts back up) until the new project finally starts (that last issue they're having must be driving them nuts). As for TeamViewer, the timeout is no biggie. More a carryover of a bad habit. It definitely is MUCH faster with writing screen updates than Citrix! Free doesn't hurt either!! ![]() |
