Not much chatter today I can't speak for anyone else but I have been super busy and have lost some of my enthusiasm over the project slate. Still, hanging in waiting for more Cancer work and hopefully more GPU work. Kind Regards Everyone I am in the same boat--finishing a small job and then a trip back to Texas until Spring If i live that long ![]() |

Not much chatter today Hi there. WELCOME BACK! We do have our quiet times but that seems true for the forums as a whole too lately. A lot of the folks who joined in recent years never knew WCG with just 2-4 projects. It can be harder to be enthusiastic for the current projects. FAAH's been around since about the first anniversary of WCG (so almost 8 years). CEP2 has long checkpoints and heavier requirements. The recent run of tropical disease projects haven't gotten quite the same enthusiam as the cancer projects. A lot of folks can relate more to cancer projects. I suspect tropical diseases don't get as much focus in general as they affect smaller populations, or at least much smaller populations in the traditionally defined "developed" countries. With that perspective, it's good to see WCG helping as any chronic disease is nasty for those who have it. |

I have it running on two w7's at work now. only for about 8 hrs a day. I own a license for Windows 8 that I do not use. Cannot stand it. I just saw a story that M$ has announced a revision Windows 8.1 Have not looked into it. I suspect your problem is one of cooling. If you have a stock cooler on your machine that could be the problem. Aftermarket coolers are available cheaply and while they are a touch tricky to put on, they help a bunch. Regards |

Its nonsense. I got this after my macbook crapped out (9 years i had it). Friggin win8 is all they seem to have in south korea. Its a laptop so Id love to put a better cooler in it. Just never got around to it. Never been an issue until i tried to run boinc. Randomly have the system eat nearly 100% of disk too (thanks windows bugs).
----------------------------------------Ill have these two desktops keep crunching though. |
