Good work on the stats dc. I look forward to a continuing expansion. Thanks RTS48. I'm learning a few things too, such as "changing a database with 350,000 records in it is a bad idea and I should have got it right the first time". My server will process 30,000 records an hour, so today's update will be a bit late ![]()

Morning all.
----------------------------------------Still just about here! I have been caught up in moving out of home and then having to lodge with family as my purchase fell through late on so getting any crunching time has been difficult but have managed to keep at least one WU returned each day, don't want to break my run of returning results. I have managed to creep past 13yrs RT for the team in this slow crunching week. dcrobinson, I will second the comments from domonijo, RTS and others regarding your stats page and I will also agree with your comment of trying to format posts here as even on a simple list of all the team's projects (the one I borrow from boincstats) is a pain to format. Welcome aboard MilesCZ, good to have you with us. Hope everyone is well and keep up the good work. |

Good Morning All.
----------------------------------------Best of luck with your search for a new home genhos, it's good to see your dedication but I imagine it is very frustrating. Talking of which - I have ended up at the lunch crunch break only 42 points short of 14 Million and possibly one or two days short of my 10 year diamond for OET. All should be complete by midnight tonight. I'm not sure what my next target will be, possibly 100 Million points (2.1 million to go) or 200,000 results (5,000 to go). Late breaking news - I've just passed the 14 Million point mark at 12:30 GMT and am impatiently waiting for the stats to update to see if I have achieved my 10 year OET badge,

OK, so it took 12 hours to reload the database from a backup yesterday, and over 10 hours to modify some of the data... and then I went away and thought about it a bit... and managed to get the database reload down to about 1 minute, and the modification down to about 30 seconds.
----------------------------------------Clear evidence that it's a long time since I've done any database stuff. Luckily I'm not in charge of Google's software team, or indeed, anything ![]()

No worries DC, it is getting those little grey cells working
---------------------------------------- RTS, it has been a frustrating week but it is now starting to settle. While lodging my output will be down which puts a dent into my hopes of a 10yr milestone for MCM but we'll keep on going, their work to be done for the boffins! |

Whee a new bright shiny 10 year diamond for OET. I suppose now it will be a long wait for a 5 year diamond for FAH2. I may slip back into MCM or even into the CEP2. Not sure about UGM though.

Great work RTS48. I got my first Diamond 10 a couple of weeks ago and I was chuffed to bits. My real target is a Diamond 5 for CEP2 (CEP being what got me into WCG), but it's slow going, and I've still got about 300 runtime days to go.

Good morning everyone.
DC keep up the good work, in a career spanning show room assistant, pubs including management and IT support I was thrust into Unix / finance database management. Oh deep joy of overnight sessions to get the wretched thing into service. It was no fun. ![]() |
