Morning team! ![]() I know it's not a badge-threshold, but I had this milestone greet me this morning: Mapping Cancer Markers : 41,671,348 : 55,399 : 40:018:03:48:47 40 years of contribution towards MCM! ![]() Excellent work Thargor. I have just got my 5 years diamond for FA@H - Phase 2, but am glad to say that I am back on the much shorter OET work units. I had lots of time outs on FA@H but the diamond badge was worth it!

Congrats on the Diamond 5, crooks_uk I spotted it with my embryonic stats generator, which I've just decided to go public with. Not because it's finished, or it's much use, but declaring its existence might give me the incentive to actually finish it:
----------------------------------------http://wcg.36arn.co.uk It's a model example of how not to write a web application with a database behind it, but fortunately I don't imagine it'll get much use, so performance won't be an issue ![]()

I think the team thread is much the worse since our stats master ceased his sterling work with the stats. Do you fancy picking up his mantle? Big shoes to fill I know! ![]()

Good Morning Team. We had a spectacular electric storm last night and a modicum of rain. Nice and fresh now and the garden is greening up nicely. I need to drain the swimming pool by a few inches otherwise it will be over the top.
----------------------------------------Congratulations to crooks-uk and Thagor on their achievements. You are an example to us all.

Nice work with the stats Dave. I think the team thread is much the worse since our stats master ceased his sterling work with the stats. Do you fancy picking up his mantle? Big shoes to fill I know! ![]() Thanks crooks. I agree that the absence of the stats is a big loss. I used to regularly visit the thread to find out who was doing what. I actually started fiddling with this whilst Jonnie B was still doing his stuff, but various personal circumstances intervened. I'm happy to provide whatever value-added information I can, if anyone has any special requests. My server goes off and queries the WCG website in the middle of the night and assembles a load of data, and then performs various calculations. The plan (in the next couple of days) is to display 1,7 and 28 day rolling averages (and rankings compared to the other teams, and then eventually team overtake statistics. I also have the data to work out overtakes within the team. In essence, I think I can completely automate everything that Jonnie B was doing.

Congrats to Thargor & crooksuk.
dcrobinson, I think your offer to provide stats in the absence of johnnie_b is really good and look forward to seeing them. I would like to say that it is a big job and voluntary, there is much to be admired, I hope that this does not cause too much strain for you. ![]() |

It's no effort to provide the stats (once I've written the software). I'm a professional programmer by trade and have done web and database stuff off and on over the years. I've already written most of the code to gather the stats and shove them in a database. It's now just a case of extracting the data, running some calculations on it, and presenting it via a web page. I've made a start, but there's a lot more to come I hope. Once it's up and running, it should require no maintenance at all (I run my own server for friends' websites and email, so I have all the necessary technology). Nice to see we're the 68th largest team, but we're 38-41 in world rankings.

According to the data I'm collecting, there are 566 members in Team UK, but in the last 15 days (which is as far back as the data I'm collecting goes, so far) only 93 members have actually produced any results in that period. Just imagine where we'd be in the rankings if all 566 members were crunching
