Yippee. Number 6 in the team for points yesterday. If only I'd joined 5 years ago! 6th in the Team and 690th in the World! Although given the vagaries of the OET points allocation recently I think your 8th/716th for RunTime is the greater acievement. Yeah, but I feel a slight fraud for the runtime figures. They're being inflated by two free Azure VMs (part of my Microsoft Developer subscription) and one free Amazon EC2 instance. This counts as 3 cores, although in reality they're very weedy, particularly the Amazon one. Mind you, runtime is where you get the shiny badges, so that's all that really matters If there were any WCG apps for Raspberry Pi 2, I'd be threatening to steal MamaJ's crown (or maybe not!!!).

Good evening all. Unfortunately 3d rendering has massively affected my stats since I started on Friday and is using all CPU resources. I am already seeing three pages of no reply and the rendering is still not completed. Most upsetting to say the least. On a positive note, I have added a old four core 2.8 GHz Xeon workstation to the fleet today. Good afternoon team, I have just returned home (been working away) to find the main workstation still rendering (some scenes have so far done 150 hours and are still not complete!) I have paused rendering to finish some work units but unfortunately the damage is already done. Most work units are being reported as unusable.

In a rare post (2 in the last 10 months) Viktors World Community Grid Tech has provided an indication of work to come for the project:
----------------------------------------....we are roughly half of the way through the amount of work initially given to us to run. However, the researchers are planning on giving us more data from Amazon samples, for example. Since the total amount of work goes up with the square of the input data, the project may become as much as 10 times larger. Thus, there should be plenty of additional work. |
