Makes me wonder if there's been something in the pipeline for a while, or due to the seriousness of this Ebola outbreak, whether the project has been fast-tracked.

Either way, I'm just glad we're helping to eradicate it. We need a cure/vaccine ASAP before it spreads to the wider world.

I recall reading sometime back that it can take >6months to bring a project to production. On the otherhand it is the Scripps Research Insitute who have demonstrative expertise in wwirhing with WCG - GFAM etc. Also Ebola is very much a "hot" topic so grant money is probably easier to come by.

In Other News

Emailed the BBC (again):
10 years ago BBC reported the establishment of the World Community Grid
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4024931.stm
and a few months later
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/4270241.stm
Having just celebrated its 10th birthday and passing 1million years of CPU time, WCG has today announced the launch of a new project Outsmart Ebola Together in conjunction with the Scripps Research Institute
https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/research/oet1/overview.do
Hopefully it might rate a mention on the program not forgetting that not only can people participate with desktops and laptops but also Android smartphones.

Re: In Other News

Morning,

I have an issue that I have noticed with my computer and it has been happening since June when I started WCG.
There seems to be some sort of memory leak and I end up with an svchost.exe process grabbing nearly 4gb of ram.
Does anybody have any experience with trouble shooting memory leaks or can give advice?
