Posts seen since CEP2 resumption:
----------------------------------------My units have an estimated run time of 24 hours while the percentage complete is still working relative to the 18 hours hard limit. Original runtime is based on project current average flops stored in the task header. Your device then computes based on it's benchmarked performance how much time it needs. Projecting 24 hours implies it's not fast enough to do it all, but given quite a few tasks exit long before job #6, not much can be said of the true end time, hence the 18 hours percent progress base. Seen too many that went from 40-50 percent to 100 in a blink of an eye. Personally I've got 2 WUS est at 24 and 25 hrs. The one est at 24 hrs finished 10.37 / 11.39. First checkpoint after 4.25hrs Both WUs Quorum 2 No indication whether Quorum 0 is available once machines reprove "reliable" |

@ crooks_uk Your post Sep 20, 2013 Not planning on buying any serious CPU power until Haswell E becomes available, ... Saw this post today from ryan222h For anyone that wants to make a shiny new crunching rig, the Haswell-E CPU's and motherboards (X99) and now available at a number of places. Highlights are 6 core (12 thread) Haswell CPU's for under $400 and DDR4 Quad channel memory support. Time to flash some plastic ![]() Intel Haswell-E; Intel Core i7-5960X Review, X99 Chipset and DDR4 Good afternoon team, Hope everyone is keeping well. May have to put my purchase off for a while as things are very tough at work right now. Read the first review today on the 8 core x99 but was hoping for better performance as we have waited so long. Please bring back the years when CPUs doubled in performance each year. Think I may well wait until 4k displays and GPUs become mainstream and the work situation improves.

@Crooks_UK
----------------------------------------Shortly after I joined the UK team I posted a couple of questions and suggestions about the team challenges, this was while you were of on your much needed holiday... Can I draw your attention to it and request some comment or feedback on the items in question? To save you having to search it out here is a link to the area of the questions... Many thanks in advance M

Many thanks for the update on team challenges jonnieb...
----------------------------------------Does anyone want to guess where most of my crunchers are? There is a clue a couple of posts back or by looking at Jonnieb's update above... Yep, FAAH! my point is, we are number one in the challenge where most of the effort is, in the others we are doing ok. All I'm suggesting is that a little planning and focusing of effort and the UK team can really shine! Watchout for next month, MCM will shine as I'm changing over to get my 50 year badge on that one too (I'll have 50Y FAAH in a couple of days), with a little focus, as I said, we, the UK team can really shine as a team, as a country!
