Re: Morning Update III

It was the weekend of the Scotland V England rugby International at Murrayfield.

As the crowds assembled in the City of Edinburgh and prepared to make their way to Murrayfield a Rottweiler suddenly lunged towards a bonny wee eight year old Scottish lass, its jaws wide open ready to attack.

The crowd nearby gasped in horror but, quick as a flash, a man in blue jumped out of the crowd, grabbed the dog by the throat and throttled it.

As the dead dog lay there, and the crowd cheered in admiration, a journalist from The Scotsman who had witnessed the heroic deed, went up to the man and said,
'That was brilliant, I can see the headline now ………….
'Scottish Rugby Fan Saves Young Girl From Certain Death'.
The man replied, 'No you've got it wrong. I'm not here for the rugby!'
'Don't worry' said the journalist, 'I can see the headline now …….
'Brave Heart Saves Girl From Jaws Of Rottweiler'.

The man replied, 'No you're wrong again. I'm not Scottish; I'm from London,’
The journalist said, 'Don't worry; I can see the headline now ……..
'English Thug Strangles Family Pet'..

In Other News

Badges have been updated/extended!!!

Badges appear on a member's My Contribution page and next to their name in the forums. There are 11 levels of badges awarded based upon how much computing time a member has contributed to each project:

Bronze - 14 days
Silver - 45 days
Gold - 90 days
Ruby - 180 days
Emerald - 1 year
Sapphire - 2 years
Diamond - recognizing higher levels of contribution of 5, 10, 20, 50 and up to 100 years of computing time

I'll have details of how it affects UK Team members shortly but I can already see Scribe is sporting a 10 on his badge for FAAH in the post above. wink

Other Changes are detailed in the news item

New Badges

Assembling the new badges is proving time consuming because the API on which I rely has not been fully updated to reflect the changes. sad

In summary 19 UK Team members have at least 1 new badge out of a total of 57 new badges for the Team, across 12 different projects.

crooks_uk and themoonscrescent lead the way with 8 each followed by Thargor with 6

A full list will follow at some point. wink
