Re: LunchCrunch Report

I suppose it depends on how badly you want a Blue Badge for CEP, but it'll pay to remember that there is LESS than 10% of the project remaining (90.30% as of the 11th Jan), do you think you can achieve the remainder of the 730 days needed with just running 1 work unit at a time?

Where do you people find these pieces of information? I've looked the WCG website and couldn't find it.

Time for me to stop MCM and try to get CEP sapphire before it runs out.

The SekeRob maintained dashboard is a good place to start.

But
Estimates of project length are very subjective and are based on information disclosed from time to time by project scientists.

In the case of CEP2 the '90.50% complete' is computed on a Calender basis. I would not be surprised to see it recalculated downwards.

This does happen with some projects (FA@H springs to mind), but not in this case, CEP scientists have confirmed the end of Phase 2 and are already talking about Phase 3, the chart updates (usually), every 4-5 days and is accurate, I have never seen a downward slide with this project. That said, 10% will still take a good amount of time to reach, but this project IS ending, get your badges while you can.

I can't find the post/s I read off hand, but it was a while ago (CEP % was at about 80/82% at the time, so probably about 5 months ago?).

Re: LunchCrunch Report

YAY,

For the first time I have all the badges available that I can crunch towards. I suppose it's time to wait for a new project again or for one of the intermediate projects to start back up. In the mean time I shall crunch on!

Re: LunchCrunch Report

Nice going Maugan. The CEP2 is the real biggie as it's not the easiest to get unless a near 24hr a day crunch is in progress.

Re: LunchCrunch Report

Yeah, with the amount of RAM it needed, and the difference between elapsed and CPU time, and the fact one machine I use erred out when running more than one CEP2 WU meant getting to 2years was a bit of a battle. But I got there, and I now have a nice column of three blue badges. (look to the left of this post)
