GB033533 Bronze Mapping Cancer Markers Woo hoo! My 20th badge! I must be one of the lowest ranked crunchers to have reached 20 badges, and certainly the lowest by some way in Snurk's signature ranking. ![]() |

Woo hoo! My 20th badge! I must be one of the lowest ranked crunchers to have reached 20 badges, and certainly the lowest by some way in Snurk's signature ranking. Nice going, certainly shows your "stickability" here ![]() Was thinking earlier, what have the highlights of my year been and to be honest I've struggled away from a few music gigs. As usual, thoroughly enjoyed seeing the boogie-woogie rhythm and blues king, Jools Holland. My feet just don't stop moving with that guy and his absolutely fantastic band. Seen him several times and now waiting for the next tour. Also December had Livewire and The ZZ Tops, 2 excellent tribute bands with The ZZ's and their fluffy spinning guitars and Livewire with their very own Angus Young belting out classic AC/DC guitar solos. Both do songs from the whole career of their respective bands. Saw the gorgeous Caro Emerald and she was superb with her band. Lovely voice and lots of foot tapping tunes. Finally, although a million miles away in style, had my ears blasted by the Rock freight train that is Airbourne. They start like a train out of control and don't stop, not at all subtle! And for the New Year, got tickets for the fabulous Imelda May for some rockabilly with a bit of blues to boot and the always sublime, Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. An excellent mix of music they play, from classical to pop to rock to movie theme tunes, all brilliantly played on the "bonsai guitar" and a nice dose of humour included. Go see! Hope for the year has to be without a shadow of a doubt, Rodrigo y Gabriela on tour in a town near me! Saw these two a couple of years ago and was blown away with their acoustic guitar music (with a bit of loop and effect pedal), simply awesome and that's not a word being used lightly. So please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please........... So a couple of samples. Caro Emerald - That Man Stuck Airbourne - Runnin' Wild Imelda May - Johnny Got A Boom Boom Mayhem UoGB - Wuthering Heights Pinball Wizard Orange Blossom Special Rodrigo y Gabriela - Hanuman Tamacun Have a good evening guys and gals, and here's to a Happy New Year! ---------------------------------------- [Edit 3 times, last edit by genhos at Jan 1, 2014 11:06:06 AM] |
