Re: In Other News

Collatz seem to have had lots of problems over the past few days. Database keeps getting clogged, finished tasks are not being validated, some tasks have been running out. It all seems to be done by one person and when he is away/asleep all hell breaks loose!

It's slow going! sad

Inevitably some of the members joining WCG as part of the Ripple Labs team are serious crunchers, meaning that the daily target to make progress have risen:

	early Nov	RunTime Points Results
3.25 12,616 33

Current 4.05 16,839 37

Progress in Results is further complicated by the disparity in WU length between MCM1 & FAAH so Project selection has a significant impact.

Re: Global 5000 Contenders

Progress in Results is further complicated by the disparity in WU length between MCM1 & FAAH so Project selection has a significant impact.

Also doesn't help that the gap between Elapsed and CPU time is significant... and get the occasional errors (resulting in zero points) due to file sizes being too long (despite same results as valid runs). If it wasn't for what the project is, I (and many others I suspect) wouldn't be crunching it.

Although will continue to drop in the WCG rankings (apart from runtime) sad as will continue to focus on MCM1 (until (if?) SN2S returns), on the positive side (with GPUGrid mainly) am climbing BOINC All Projects rankings.

Currently biggrin 24 days for UK to overtake Improbable Island's Distributed Supercomputer on BOINC overall rankings. http://boincstats.com/en/stats/-1/team/list/0/0/United%20Kingdom#14

Thargor any news on when you might return to GPUGrid? Soong also believe you used to crunch GPUGrid also.... Currently BOINCStats is predicting I'll be overtaking Soong in 69 days ... Scribe should be Number 1 shortly with his work on Collatz and other projects.

@ Ian_UK
Thanks for the very welcome update on the team's progress in other projects. I've avoided doing anything in that respect wink
