Re: Off Topic

Evening all. Hope everyone is well.

On the last stats update I achieved what should be my last milestone for a while as I crept past 50,000 WCG results, it'll take some time to get that many results for the team but here we go!

Re: Off Topic

Just so everyone knows, there is a post asking for new badges over 100 years.

I guess the more people that agree, the higher the chance of WCG implementing it.

Must admit I had forgotten about the HSTB, which is a little bad to forget considering they seem to be rarer than a hen's tooth on the end of a unicorn's horn!

As for the 100+year badges, while I doubt I will ever get one there are many that will so it makes sense. Processors are getting quicker with more cores and so more units can be processed in a day which is only going to increase the daily RT. I know that my output increased when I upgraded to an i7 at home giving me 8 units being crunched at one time.

I have no problem getting hold of HSTB units, but then, my house is full of rocking horse excrement smile

Yes using a Xeon Phi you can get 288cores, assuming BOINC runs and I've no reason to think it wont then you'll very quickly be wanting D200's, in fact less than a year. You'll not be inundated with points though as they're essentially Atom cores, still it might be worth a project if no-ones tried it already?
