I've never before noticed the task whose application name is "FightAIDS@Home - Vina 7.06". Recently, it has appeared as a running task in my BOINC Manager Task List.
Typically, there are always four total tasks running at any given moment on this PC. I watched the list in BOINC Manager and finally caught on that that Vina 7.06 (mentioned above) would never finish. There happened to be four of those same named (Vina 7.06) tasks running and appartently they would eventually ReStart. And within a couple minutes they would restart yet again - NEVER finishing even one single task. It meant that I was not able to ever succeed at completing any work on any day. So, I began highlighting ALL of the Vina 7.06 tasks and aborting them all. Then, immediatly, other differently-named available tasks would run and as always they would run to completion. How can I avoid receiving that particular group of FightAIDS@Home tasks - the ones with the Vina 7.06 suffix? Right now, I have simply terminated ALL FightAIDS@Home tasks no matter what their suffix name portion is called. Help |

Right now if you have FAAH listed as an option you will receive both Autodock and Vina tasks. At some point in the future there will be a mechanism to provide a way to only request the one type of task. If you are patient it will eventually come. See this post:

Thank you Sgt. Joe
I was never able to get that link you furnished to work. Not to worry, I'll just be patient for the option to avoid Vina, when it materializes. You may want to look into the broken link for others, however. In His name, JFredrick |

Our forum software has the occasional bad habit of contracting hyperlinks, which you'll know when there are ... in the address. Editing, the working direct link: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=426960
