On my workstation while browsing, I received an error message of High CPU utilization (100%). I thought I had the settings as Suspend when user Active. I checked, and in the BOINC Manager, there are 4 tasks running show the satistics, and an entry under status of "Suspended - user active". When I look at the Windows Task Manager(Win Vista), I see several wcgrid_fahv... tasks using 100% of several of my processors.
My current version of WCG - BOINC manager is 6.10.58. So, BOINC says it's suspended, but clearly it's not! |

Yes we know of rouge FAHV processes. A Beta test is currently underway to fix a loop issue with this science app. Hopefully it also fixes the loss of control that you and others have reported.

Well, I'm glad the same thing shows up with current rev software. Saves me the trouble of upgrading. I'll abort these units until it's fixed.

I'm getting the same problem in the last month. I see two fahv tasks running simultaneously, each taking about 38% resources, making my computer almost unusable. If this is not fixed soon, I will stop participating!

I have an FAHV project running on Win7. The project gets elapsed time to 00:02:32 then resets itself back to zero. The "to completion time" sets back to 1:09 and _increases_ as time goes by until the reset. No way is this going to ever get done much less make it to the deadline. Should I kill all FAHV projects in my queue?

Definitely sowdman, kill all of them. They are, probably, bugged 7.03's, the problem was solved with version 7.06.
