I was wondering why my computer was idle and I took a look into the log:
----------------------------------------11-Jul-2013 02:07:16 [World Community Grid] FightAIDS@Home needs 105.69MB more disk space. You currently have 194.31 MB available and it needs 300.00 MB But http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=minimumreq states: FightAIDS@Home (memory) - 250 MB (disk space) - 100 MB ... Can someone please fix this? Stephan ![]() |

The SR page will be 'fixed' I'd anticipate when the VINA version of FA@H gets moved to production. Just not having even 300MB is worrying... time for an overdue spring clean maybe ;>)
BTW, how many threads can run on your device? Multiply any requirement with the [maximum to encounter] values. |

The vina faah (beta) work units seems to be rather small, I got one on this cruncher and there were no problems. I was running hpf2 and dsfl on this box without problems too ... but right now even dsfl is on hold.
----------------------------------------Yes, I did an boinccmd --project www.worldcommunitygrid.org reset and I got some megabytes back and now faah is running. But a spring^Wsummer cleaning ... well, this box was set up more than 8 years ago and I decided to spend galactic 2 GB for the root filesystem. :) Right now I have 400 megabytes free ... May be I should think about an new installation, but ... you know: people are lazy. Maybe I will find a new disk ... maybe I can free some disk space. But at the moment there are two ... erm ... three work units on the disk ... > boinccmd --get_state |grep fractio fraction done: 0.173611 fraction done: 0.000000 fraction done: 0.000000 > df -k Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on rootfs 1976492 1413780 462308 76% / So far I'm fine with this. Is this a new version of FA@H?
----------------------------------------wcgrid_faah_7.15_windows_x86_64 The system requirement page says FA@H only support x86*32. This virsion finishes about a half runtime than the old one on Win7 64bit. WUs seems to be distributed in a past couple of days. If this is the official version, following requirement should be corrected to indicate 64bit version also available. FightAIDS@Home 250 MB 100 MB Windows1, Mac2, Linux3 On linux_64, I can't find this new type WUs. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 16, 2013 8:33:02 AM] |

[On linux_64, I can't find this new type WUs.]
Having switched on FAAH, DSFL drying up, find 5 of those 7.15 on my Linux box, but could not tell you offhand if these are 64 bit [I'd expect them to be since it says 32+64 bit was released and my Linux is 64 bit, but accepting 32 bit science too]. Thank you, Rob.
I found following file under /var/lib/boinc-client/1 which is for FA@H. wcgrid_faah_7.15_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu It definitly is the 64 bit version of FA@H. I just didn't know 7.15 is the bi-modal version. Now I understand what have happened in the past. However, the System requirement page should still be corrected because FA@H supports 64bit. BTW, there may be another factor regarding the run-time improvement I mentioned. Not only FAAH, but CEP2s on Win7 64 also finish faster than last week. I really did nothing during last week end though, it crunches much more WUs than last week. Untill last week, all of CEP2 WUs aborted by 12h time out but no WUs time-outs now. I will pursue bit more for this issue(?). Thanks in advance. Kiyo. |

Strictly speaking, per the techs, the search space is 3 times larger at a price of 20% longer, but Linux just gains massively with 64, the VINA sciences the best example. Dr. Perryman did mention that the FAHV (FA@H on VINA shortname] will run an order of magnitude faster than the comparative under AutoDock. We'll be racing through experiments, meaning a much deeper investigation is possible in less time. Now what he needs is holodeck power.

I have been puzzled by this too. As soon as my available space gets under 2GB, the BOINC log says I have 0.0MB available. Something is not calculating available disk space correctly.

hmmm, check all your disk settings, to include what to leave 'free'. If there is 2GB space and you specify to leave 2GB free [or some percent], then you get what you want... a warning. (The rule applying is always the lowest sum-effect of the settings ;>).
