Re: CEP Upload Speeds (What do you get)

i'm getting 8 kps upload on one machine,
but 50 or 60 on the other 2...
still whatever it gets there eventually,
and only 1 per box so it's not too often.

Re: CEP Upload Speeds (What do you get)

Can you please post your experienced CEP upload rates and time as well? This is really the upload rates (and better) I am exploring now. I am interested in how it transfers to the CEP upload rate. I'm expecting some limitation on the receiving server side.

I'm not running any ATM.
Let me run one and I'll get back.

Wow smile. I wish FIOS was offered in my area. I would love to sign up for their symmetrical 15/15 package.

The options here are UVerse and Comcast. I currently have UVerse with a 12Mb down/1.5 up connection. I had upgraded to the maximum 25/3Mb package (in my area) but they only provisioned me for 2Mb upload. Needless to say I was not pleased so I moved back down to original rate. I've been debating on whether to switch to Comcast; they offer up to 100Mb/20Mb on the highest package.

I'm thinking about going all CEP (20 WU) on the home network. Upload bandwidth is the only concern.

I was so glad when I was able to ditch Comcast last year. Verizon built out the whole fiber network in my neighborhood last summer. Apparently it is their newest network tech. That connection speed I posted was only their mid-range package. Their next step up package was double that and I believe they had a higher (much more expensive) package above that.

Go with Comcast. You'll be fine with either Performance (25/5) or Blast! (50/10) tiers. Make sure to rent or buy a DOCSIS 3 modem. Not sure what router you have but make sure it can support the higher speeds. I have a Linksys WRT54G + Motorola SB5100 and can only handle the Performance tier. I have plenty of speed on my home network to handle 9-10 devices.

No point discussing Verizon FIOS since it's not available in his area. My Comcast service has been rock solid for quite some time now. But then again I live 45 minutes outside of Philly smile

Re: CEP Upload Speeds (What do you get)

You had very good upload speeds for the large 4th file with your 25/5 connection at 1:24 seconds. If I make the move I plan to buy the Motorola SB6141 modem which has a top tier 343/141 throughput. I already have a good gigabit router.

The only concern is Comcast in my prior experience has been unreliable in my area. The UVerse connection never goes down. I have only lost the connection once, and that was after a hurricane. I may run both side by side for a few months just in case.

Re: CEP Upload Speeds (What do you get)

Suddenlink 30 down, 2 up

Speakeasy Test Results: Washington, DC
Download Speed: 31148 kbps (3893.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 2101 kbps (262.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

I generally get the full/rated speed when uploading CEP2 results.
