I had already got used to the term "google", but now, this PRISM spying hassle seemed to increase the popularity of alternative choises.
----------------------------------------You can read the article I'm referring to here DuckDuckGo revels in PRISM security fears, ra... searches in a single day So I'm planning to try this one out. After few searches it got me convinced it is for real. It also has similarly funny name as google. To be honest, the name duckduckgo was reason enough for me to give it a go! So tell me. Have you stopped using google because of vagueness of internet privacy or have you been using some alternative all along? If you can name some cool sounding search engine I haven't heard before, I'll promise to try it out! ![]()

I've been using DuckDuckgo for about a week or so. I really like it.

Vivisimo for a couple of years, because they were add-free long after google, -plus- they produced a search result index and then the sold out... and see now they're owned by IBM no less, i.e. sold on again: http://www-01.ibm.com/software/data/information-optimization/
(P.S. Was there not already such a topic thread?) |

Try "ixquick". This is the safest search engines on the web. No information is given to anyone because ixquick does NOT save any information so there isn't any information to give out and it works quite well.

Try "ixquick". This is the safest search engines on the web. No information is given to anyone because ixquick does NOT save any information so there isn't any information to give out and it works quite well. Howcome ixquick looks like google? Anyway, I think it needs to be tried! ![]() I want to add, that I'm fine with commercial SEs that use your information to target adds. I have tried bing for couple of months but I haven't been satisfied at all with its performance.
