I've noticed that according to the SekeRob's chart, GFAM has dropped to 104 days. It was aprox 150 days a few days ago and now it's at 104 days
---------------------------------------- . Just curious as to why the fluctuation (and eventual drop) in the days left to crunch. CJSL Crunching for a better world... |

Probably a number of factors - two being, the recent project update and also the reduction of active projects running on the grid.

I noticed that big drop in days too. With so many projects finishing up and so far I've not seen anything in the beta category that would lead one to guess one or more new projects popping up soon, I'm wondering if we'll see all the remaining projects dropping their days remaining much more quickly as 2013 unfolds.
I originally switched from HPF2 to GFAM a couple weeks ago for a run at an emerald badge for a second project after I managed to get one for HPF2. If GFAM keeps speeding up, I'm wondering if I'm going to make it. My personal estimate would be if the 104 days are true, I'll just make it with 1 to 3 weeks to spare. Another big drop, and I'm going to come up short....oh well...I'll keep trying anyway and see what happens. |

I would say it is to do with HCC coming to an end.
1. We have gone from 7 to 6 projects which can use a CPU. So CPUs will be doing more GFAM files. 2. Those who were focussing on points would have focussed on HCC for GPU processing. If you micromanage and now need to badgehunt, then GFAM has the lowest number of days left. I too would try to grab as many GFAM as possible before it runs out. With both of these, it would mean that there is a skew to GFAM. |

Question for you guys, as I'm a total noob here.
----------------------------------------I've found SekeRob's charts (http://s137.photobucket.com/user/Sekerob/media/WCGGFAMProdChart.png.html) but I'm wondering where you're seeing how many days are remaining? I figure you can calculate it based on the % complete and when it was started, but am I missing seeing a number somewhere?
