After my client reported its results this morning, I noticed that no new tasks were downloaded. After doing a forced update a while ago, I'm still not getting any additional work units. The event log shows the following:

Hm... possibly scratch that, it seems to be intermittent, as I just did a forced update and got ~5 tasks assigned (this is still far fewer than I normally assigned).

Hi crouchingcamper, a little more information, I think, is required before anyone can make a realistic assessment of what your issue is - so, firstly, if you could post the first 2 dozen or so lines from your Messages Tab, that'll give us some info of your set-up.
----------------------------------------One possiblility is, if you're crunching other projects as well as WCG, is the project weighting/balance. Another, may be the time duration your machine is 'on/available for crunching' - e.g., if it's only on for 2 hrs/day, then BOINC will calculate as to how many WU's it thinks it can process in that timescale. As I say though, in reality, we need more information to go on...  |

Hmm. Seems to have resolved itself. Client just updated and I got a full load of tasks.

----------------------------------------What happened most likely was.... 4/26/2013 2:41:00 PM | World Community Grid | Requesting new tasks for NVIDIA The client asking *in that call* only for GPGPU work for NVIDIA, *not* CPU work, maybe even just CUDA, but anyhow as you saw there's no work for any of the sciences you selected at that time [of course]. The puzzle that continues is, why HCC was not listed in many of these reports. Is it actually one of your selected projects? If yes, there just was momentarily not any. At any rate, even if no GPGPU project is selected of WCG, the client will periodically call for that work, then back off for longer, or until the update button is hit which resets the backoff counters. Remedy, it it irks, would be to disable GPU computing in the client. edit: I've marked this thread as auto-resolved in post title, please do that to opening post too so we know the problem is closed.
