OUtput files absent???
Forgive But i'm not able to find a thread similar. Been quite a while since I've posted in this forum but been a cruncher for quite a while on and off

I have an issue, not sure if anyone else has it too. Been advised by my team to post here see if someone knows whats wrong

Just checked BOINC on main PC

I have hundreds of files that have an error

"Output file ************* for task ***********_2 is Absent!"

What does this mean?
If i do a project update Hccs are downloaded. My GPU starts crunching for 1 maybe 2 seconds then all files disappear

I'm a little confused

Any advise?

Hi TriplexDread,

As always, if you could post some more info about your setup (i.e., what platform you're using/BOINC version etc. - which, if you paste the first 2 dozen or so lines from your Messages tab, would suffice), then people will have a deeper understanding from which help can be given.

Yes mate sure. Ive just checked again and all HCCs that are downloaded while the GPU is trying to access them I receive a computation error on all of them

Here are specs and errors. (quite a lot) (although a small amount of what was available)

Fix your NVidia drivers, so BOINC will see it's OpenCL 1.1 or above as enabled. Without, all HCC-GPU jobs crash [regrettably the server can't see if OpenCL is missing, just the card, to check if not blacklisted].

To be clear for all and every GPU cruncher, or having plans, each GPU device *must* have the log entries at start:

1) One log entry is not enough:

30/03/2013 17:09:06 NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GTX 660 Ti (driver version 31422, CUDA version 5000, compute capability 3.0, 2048MB, 492 GFLOPS peak)

2) Two is what's required, but OpenCL 1.0 is not enough either... need at least 1.1:

3) An example of a good pair, noting that each card in a device has an ID number, starting at zero. This one is GPU 2 aka the third card in the host:

Everything has been working fine. My card has been doing HCCs for many weeks!! Its only the past couple of days that this has happened. I will reinstall latest drivers ans see what happens.

Installing latest drivers (314.22WHQL) has not made a difference

Tell a lie I have rebooted machine after reinstalling latest driver and its now working

Hmmmm, strange
