Johnny
How many total cores are you running? 4c, 4c/8t, 8c, or 6c/12t
How many do you want to run HCC? How many GAFM?

Re: Being flooded with GFAM work units!!!

JC,

The BOINC folks have been working through a number of work fetch issues with the latest version of the client (which we are also working on making our 'recommended version).

If you could do the following (and hopefully you can reproduce the issue?):

1) Backup your cc_config.xml file (save it to another location)
2) Download and install http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/wcg_boinc_7.0.60_windows_intelx86.exe
3) In your cc_config.xml enable the following log flags <work_fetch_debug>, <sched_op_debug>. I think these are all that should be needed. Rob - if you can comment further I would appreciate it.
4) After a work fetch where you get a GFAM flood, please save your sched_request_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml and sched_reply_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml (immediately so it doesn't get overwritten) and send it to support@worldcommunitygrid.org (attn Kevin).

Then post your message log from before the request to afterwords in this thread. This should give us some information to work on.

[note that this is a test version of the client and there are some bugs we have left to work out - one of which is that we currently overwrite an existing cc_config.xml file so make sure you back it up before installing]

Thanks for your reply, knreed! I have copied your post and also downloaded that version 7.0.60. I may have to think about that 'test version. I was told that it can be difficult to go back to the version I have (6.10.58 from Boinc (not here).

Since there are only about 25 days of HCC GPU, I would like to finish tat while I have a chance. wink

Anyway, still just running those! Maybe after that is over. Anyways, 2 pics of what I was posting about (sorry for the quality of the pics):

Maybe it was some strange Boinc error. Yet, I am willing to try this soon! coffee

I will just continue the way it is for now (8 threads only). Again, thank you very much!
