Greetings all,

We have released 7.13 for Mac GPU today. The beta test performed yesterday was successful.

Thanks,

Re: HCC GPU Mac Released

This is great, now I don't have to boot into Windows to crunch GPU units!

Congratulations on porting (yet another) science app to (yet another) platform!

There are very few Mac GPU distributed computing projects and although the number of machines may be small compared to Windows or Linux, it keeps Mac users involved in the project. And since we may be crunching on multiple platforms there's a hidden 'halo effect' to keeping us involved (ie. we're bringing more Linux and PC's to the mix in addition to our Macs)

GPU units were working just fine, checked last evening. Now this morning all of the GPU work units showing Computational Error. Running 7.0.31 with Mac OSX 10.8.3 on ATI HD 5770.

Showing this error

FAO Admin, no rush: HCC-Msc needs a mark with footnote 6 on the System Requirements page: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=minimumreq

Re: HCC GPU Mac Released

Please forgive if this question has an obvious answer, but, how do you know if a task is using GPUs? I just completed the process of installing the various pieces to get CUDA installed. It passes the CUDA post installation tests. Is there anything else I need to do on the WCG side of things to get HCC using the GPUs? Thanks.

WCG doesn't use CUDA. You need the OpenCL at least 1.1 drivers.

Re: HCC GPU Mac Released

Thanks BladeD. I guess that wasn't my problem then. :) In the past day or so the vast majority of my HCC work units fail with "Computation Error" so I thought maybe I didn't have the GPU processing configured correctly. OpenCL benchmarks show that OpenCL is running on this system so I guess it's something else going on.
