Can just see the headlines:
"Motley Bunch of Hackers Thrashes IBM in Corporate Philanthropy Stakes" wink
"Corporate America not Pulling its Weight in Philanthropy"

[OT]Actually, the second one is a serious comment: Just where are most of the other corporates with large fleets of mostly-idle desktop computers when it comes to donating CPU time to philanthropic DC projects? WCG corporate partners excepted of course. [/OT]

The Xtremesystems party will end in a few months though, unless the HCC project is extended or another GPU project commences:
Start Here: Community-maintained FAQs [read only] > WCG Supplemental Performance Charts - 1 > 1. WCGPI1 - Active/Intermittent Research Dashboard (http://bit.ly/WCGPI1 )
Days Tasks Left for HCC = 52

Party while you can ...

Great stuff, but if indeed IBM were to consolidate all it's hosts worldwide, all would be toast. Fortunately, many employees choose to detach from the generic group account and run under own name and team, which is actually encouraged. Many at blue do not even know their devices are crunching away.

I tease about IBM but God's truth, they are to be commended for "putting their money where there mouth is" as we used to say. This project must cost them millions and then just think about the added electrical costs with all those machines running at 100% load vs near idle.
We can tease them and harasss them but it's all in good fun.
Thanks IBM!
Now as to GPU ending, it is what it is but to me if these people in charge are as smart as I think they are they won't let this incredible amount of computaional power be ignored for very long. To do otherwise just isn't logical.

Now that you have all the stuff from your table put together and running should be no problem. tongue

Maybe you can tell us foreigners how much the cost before and after US Corp tax would be to IBM of running the grid.
