New ssd?

I just purchased a new 120 GByte ssd. I have a computer that is running Ubuntu. Now how do I move the OS and Boinc to the new ssd? The only thing I can think of is to start over again with a fresh download of Ubuntu and Boinc. Of course this would mean that I would lose all the partial results of the old Boinc. I have looked at the Boinc program and have found files on more than one folder so I do not think that I could copy just one folder from one hard drive to the other and have it run properly.

Re: New ssd?

Do a search for cloning software. There are numerous ones out there, some free and some paid. Use one of these to make a copy of one or all of your partitions or the whole drive.
Good luck

Re: New ssd?

Probably best to run it dry, then swap your drives and reinstall. Cloning can work to but if something gets corrupt, you will loose everything. Plus, reinstalling helps clean out old stuff built up in the registry and such.
