Over the past two weeks I have had multiple work units that errored out.
Based on my viewing of the errors in the Result status there are two types of errors that show up. The errors pop up at different times in the work unit but usually not in the beginning of the workunit. TYPE 1
Type 2
Does anybody has a clue what is going on? Should I be worried about this? Help appreciated. |

Hello MathFreak.be
It seems like switching to windows 8 was somewhat less smooth then expected. Just rescently started crunching again but now on win 8... Would that also mean that the errors you reported in your original-post is now gone in Win8?; ; andzgridPost#977 ; |

Woops that comment was totally confusing.
No I switched my machine to windows 8 two months ago but I just recently started crunching again now using windows 8. The last time I ran this science is way way back. But I can't remember seeing those errors let alone that frequent on other sciences. Yesterday produced another four. |

Thanks.
I once tried to find a version newer then 7.0.28. But I only saw version 7.0.52 with a warning not to use it but for testing. By changing the download link from the 7.028 version to : http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_7.0.31_windows_x86_64.exe I got myself the 7.0.31 version. However since these versions are mentioned on http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php/ are they save to use? |

WCG recommends 7.0.31 for Windows 8 and OS-X Lion for least problematic installing when doing this clean. The 7.0.28 will be fine too. Anyone who 'upgraded' to W8 and already had an older BOINC client on it will be able to install/use less older client versions before 7.0.31 and some have reported that 7.0.28 also installs fine from clean, just not always.

Yes MF.be, 31 is safe. You can also try 52 (I am running it on W7 64), but if you are afraid of it (you can always uninstall it and reinstall 7.0.31 again) , just stay with 31 (I am running this one on Mac OS X w/o problems).
