Re: JTS 2 - Movin' on Up!

Morning Guru, Vaio, Comp, Mousie!

I hope you're all well?

mornin matt, have a good weekend? smile

Yes thanks. Very busy, 2 birthday parties and a 260 mile round trip to visit my parents. Lots of fun, despite taking hours to set up my Dad's wireless network for him due to a number of applications on his laptop all wanting to control his network config.

Sorted in the end without mucking anything else up, but could only give him WEP-128 rather than the WPA-PSK I was aiming for!

Anyway, the moral of the story is "The more you overtake the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain."

Re: JTS 2 - Movin' on Up!

I still use cat5 cables, routers, and switches because all my computers are close together...Can not justify spending all that money when the old system still works great... cool

Re: JTS 2 - Movin' on Up!

Comp..........have you got a working board for a 1 ghz Athlon???
I have a lil rig I can't be bothered reviving if you want it.

Icky old tiny thing.........was my first riggy.
Anyway.....cpu and ram still in situ.......disc and gpu relocated.
Board is no good as it has gone senile...tried various batteries but wouldn't save settings.
Oh....cd writer still in situ too.
If you want the rig or any components from it let me know.

Re: JTS 2 - Movin' on Up!

If its Socket A, i think i may be able to give it a home

will just check parts bin

how much does everything weight in total (for shipping perposes)

Brothers just gone out on new £150 dual suspension bike - goes down the street wacks it from gear 1 to 15 and I hear almighty clicks and scrapping as he does so... but he's out of sight so i can't do anything, will just wait till he gets back before assaulting him with a spare P2 motherboard tongue

found a board for it

what's CPU info so i can make sure board will work

no spare case, but i'm sure a mate has a spare somewhere (unless you can send it in a case)

May as well just send it as is......case and power supply etc etc etc.
Just needs a board/cheap gpu and a hard disc.

She isn't that heavy and is a relatively small case.....think HP/Compaq.

Re: JTS 2 - Movin' on Up!

looks like the new machine won't be up today

ebuyer sent it for tuesday 19th, arrived and signed for @ my dad's work on that day before 10:20, only its now not there...

he's asked around but nobody says they've had it...

Royal mail's tracking service confirmed it was signed for at the correct address and on the right day and the right time, so somebodies lying

What kind of people is he working with that steal from a colleague? Worse than that, one that is using the parts for a project helping mankind?

Really annoyed now
