For xp:
1. open (double click) on the network icon in systray 2. click properties, lower left side 3. click configure, upper right 4. select prower management tab 5. uncheck allow the computer to turn off this device to save power 6. click ok hth |

Ah, except for step 1 XP is identical to Vista and up... I'll remember that, when XP is like as long ago as Vista came out (2006). That said, Google has the answer in no time with the correctly formed question.
