Is there an external GPU capable of HCC crunching?

"External" GPU? Maybe define what it's supposed to mean. This wiki implies, the external could be something different to the internal: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/ATI_Radeon
As for CUDA... that's not used by HCC-GPU... it's an NVidia proprietary. HCC is coded in OpenCL which most all modern cards can handle, and hopefully the Intel GPU too in future. |

Ah, a really external to the desktop/laptop GPGPU container box... the leads are made long and is performance impacting, so the TsH test indicates. For the very serious cruncher no doubt.
