Odd. I'm really good at determining any software/hardware issues. I am running XP Pro -SP2 (all current). No problems with DEP. When the device tries to dl a work unit, it will dl about 99% of it and then go into pause. Even (ugh!) unloaded my Zone Alarm Pro (newest version). Hi Johnny CoolSome AntiVirus software scans any downloads for viruses when the download reaches 99% Is it possible that your AntiVirus Scanner is rejecting the file and preventing completion of the download I have experienced this before, as it has caused the download to time out and not complete it's progress Just a thought [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 28, 2005 6:49:38 PM] |

Hi JC
Glad to see you - sorry to to hear you're having problems with the agent. Should be pretty much the same as the grid one, did do the backing off thing for me when I was trying to install a funny way - but that was before it downloaded the WU and it only paused for about 2 mins before getting on with it. How long have you tried leaving it for? Take you've tried the obvious of reinstalling and all that? |

Are you using Udmon by chance ??? Also do you still have a Ud folder on your computer from United Devices ???? ![]() pwrguru, I uninstalled the Grid UD device, then installed the WCG/UD device. Took down my AVG Pro, and still nada. Watched the WCG folder populate, then it stopped after the dl was 99% complete. If it's a problem on my end, I will find it. I have alrady run the mack daddy RegVac. I'll keep trying. I'm sure it's something simple. ![]() |

Hi Johnny,
I had a similar problem yesterday when trying to get the agent itself dl'd into the one box I built myself. It too has XP pro SP2. The dl would get to various points but never more than half and then stop. Tried various things but the only thing that finally worked was to uninstall the SP2 upgrade. It was a drastic move but all I could do to get it to work. This pc only goes online to send & get wu's so the security stuff in SP2 isn't critical. |

I don't run SP2 and was wondering:
Maybe SP2 has the windows firewall on by default....and clashes with any pre-existing firewall??? Just a thouhgt. |

I have it running now. The problem was that my lucky pen fell off the desk.
---------------------------------------- No, what was strange, usually when you have an app shut down, you get an alert from XP Pro stating that DEP had shut it down. I did not get that alert when the grid agent failed to dl the entire work unit and then tried to execute. So I merely added the grid agent to the list in DEP and then checked it (to let it run without DEP interfering with it). Ok, it should only take about 20 minutes to finish this puppy. LOL! ![]() ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Johnny Cool at Jul 28, 2005 8:15:55 PM] |

Oops, I meant when the agent tried to execute; so that means I was able to dl the full wu. It's all fine now.
