New WU's over 100 hours long?

I am now getting WU's over 100 hours long at "Ready to start". What's up with this?

DSFL: New WU's over 100 hours long?

There are no 100 hour jobs send out, rather they are being cut so the average DSFL run time is about 4.5 hours at present for the average machine. Suggest to start these tasks manually ahead of queue and see if after a few hours the projected remaining time drops fast and also if the correlation of Elapsed [Run] time and CPU time is close or far apart. If far apart, your device might be heavily throttled down. Task properties in BOINC manager will show the detail.

Sekerob-

Thanks, the thing is, I am running 8 projects (7 besides WCG) on this machine, and no other projects are exhibiting the same behavior.

I have addressed heat with cleaning, tthrottle, and an exterior fan. Also, this behavior just started in the last few days.

Re: DSFL: New WU's over 100 hours long?

I checked all seven machines. I found this "problem" of WCG presenting WU's of over 100 hours on just two of them.

On both machines, all other projects had WU's ready to start of lengths between a few at about 20 minutes and a few as much as 12 hours, but the vast majority between 1 hour and 6 hours.

That being the case on these two machines I put WCG on "New no tasks", and I will see how this plays itself out. I will not abort anything.

Hi mitrichr,
Each project maintains its own multiplier now. Something caused DSFL to expand its multiplier too much on several of your computers. They should finish much quicker than the time estimate says.

Thanks, that is the first positive thing I have heard. I will go back to Allow new tasks and see what happens.

Thanks again.
