The way I look at it over there is that there are a lot of people who have become disillusioned with the events that have unfolded over the last several months, maybe years, with regards to the project. For right or wrong.
----------------------------------------Many of these people are on the fence about whether to stay or not at any given time. There are a few vocal ones who made a decision to leave and express there disappointments before going. They are immediately attacked, often with derogatory remarks. For every vocal one leaving there are a hundred quiet ones sitting on that fence. When the fence sitters see the ridicule other members sling at the expressions of frustrations they themselves feel it‘s the last straw and they decide to leave as well. That project was down by more than 50% participation from its peak before this latest downtime. So I think some of this effect has been going on for some time. I know I’ve seen it. People should be allowed to express their frustrations. If they want to leave they should be congratulated for what they have given, not ridiculed for what they won’t anymore. Most of these people that leave are still donating their resources to other programs anyway so they are still fantastic contributors. I can tell you how hard it is to get anyone to contribute to these things in the first place. People are people. They are different with different feelings, perceptions and desires. Basically unless someone is harmful to another intentionally, either emotionally or physically, they should be given understanding for their differences not attacked. Something along those lines anyway. ![]() I would never fault anyone here for moving on should they feel the need. Whatever the reason. ![]() ![]() |
