??????? Can you explain what do you mean. I also have no clue what do you mean by qualification.
----------------------------------------My understanding is that teams are open and participation based on free-will from crunchers and teams side ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Hypernova at Dec 13, 2012 4:56:26 PM] |

The qualification (for this challenge) is that you have to be your own team, in essence, a one person team. Unfortunately, there is no way to enforce it, since any team can join any challenge.

What is the meaning to be a one person team. For me a team is many members, otherwise you are just a single member and you need no team. You can start a team and if you are alone because you attract nobody fine so be it, but if others want to participate, come and leave then so be it too.
----------------------------------------Trying to have a team with strict rules is not in the spirit here. You can say what are the principles on which the team you want to build is based, but I agree with WCG that access must remain free and no mechanism to exclude or block participation should exist at team level. ![]() |

There's various expressed features that have been requested in past as join limits (few I remember):
1) maximum number of active devices 2) maximum number of active members 3) a race description box, to expand on who's the target challenge participant (to get a fair / even race, where a winner is not a foregone conclusion) If the web developer could add such finer grain pick features, 1)+2), suspect it to be not straightforward if not darn complicated, then great. The 3rd feature, a race description so captains can understand what it's about [not native English speakers], with maybe a box [yes I've read ;>], is maybe doable, without eating big time into developer time. Free text description box... who's going to moderate if those are red face in nature? Personally, if such content would appear, then the captain setting up the race has not understood what some good-natured competition is about. BTW if the one man team joins a race where the WCG top 10 are enrolled in, great too... The more the merrier P.S. Still looking for that Total Contribution Race summary... years, points, results. Just checked a past race, but nothing shown at top of that nature. How much did the 8th Birthday challenge aggregate? |

Actually, what would be nice is if it was possible to leave a challenge open only to the teams you invite (currently possible) and then paste in a LIST of those teams that you want to invite (not currently possible). That would allow whoever creates the challenge to limit it to only those teams they intend it for. It may be a bit of a hurdle to initially build a list of, for example, one-member teams but that would be a one-off that you could maintain by having any team that wanted to be included e-mail you/request it via a team forum thread for the challenge. I know the current intent is to insure all invited teams are valid team names but with pasting a list in, each item in the list could still be validated and flagged if not a valid team name before the challenge gets created.

![]() ![]() Sometimes there are so many challenges that a team captain will just keep clicking to join challenges without reading the criteria. I know I've accidentally clicked to join the small team challenges then had to go back and remove my team. |
