One workunit is one workunit?

I just thought about something and i couldn't find an answer on the net so i post it here.

My question was if one wu is really one wu compared to the application used to solve this wu?

So what me got to this question was i got 2 pcs, one with an ati radeon 5700 which solves a hcc gpu wu in about 10 minutes, my other pc got an nvidia geforce 535m which needs 40 Minutes for an wu.

At an other project (Einstein) the nvidia wu needed about 1.5 hours to complete, while the ati_opencl app at einstein needs about 20 hours or more at least more then 1.5 hours to complete.

Are these app WUs comparable with each other?

Re: One workunit is one workunit?

For HCC GPU AMD is just faster (both are running the same code). I know nothing about Einstein. But just looking at your numbers, I would say that NV and AMD are not running the same code.

But to answer your question one wu is the same no matters where it runs.
